We need to remember that not everyone that visits this site is American. But we were mainly admiring the snow covered, very Xmas looking, mountain, and the Sub just happened to be in picture. :D LOL :D
And Xmas is celebrated Many more places than just in America. :)

Unfortunately for Mike, David and I are both American submariners and pride runs deep.

:)

I first heard that line in Ice Station Zebra and it always struck me as the ultimate indication of an individuals desire to live in a specific culture/government: "American by choice! ... not by accident of birth!

I was just plain lucky: born in this time; this place; to those parents, with those great genes, work-ethics and creativity. I've been very lucky. As are the many Americans who were born here.

The other people here, foreign born, not so lucky, had to make the trek to 'the promised land' -- and that makes them better citizens than I ... except for the son's of *****es who come here illegally -- the first act they commit once they cross our boarder is a crime: not the stuff of good citizenship.

But I am improving. I sold my 1967 Triumph T100S yesterday. I had surgery on my knee a couple of years ago, and didn't like kicking the bike over, especially when she was in a bad mood! The guy came to pick it up, and she fired up- just like that! Bloody annoying! I shed a tear!

Anyhow, all I have left of 'The Old Sod' now in my beloved Jaguar and a few old submarines! I even like Miller beer now! Sad, isn't it!

Yes liking miller beer is sad. If there was one thing I would allow for you mike it would have been the beer but, now.... you have nothing left.

So how does the jaguar drive in 12"+ of snow ehh brit boy?

I don't intend to interrupt here but
British subs were mentioned and I was thinking about building a British T-type as the next project after completing the American and German subs I'm now working on.
I've not seen a detailed kit from Revell or others so was wondering what my options are and what you guys recommended ???
One that will handle a 2.5" or Larger SD, don't want to go any smaller than that.
I may want to try to make working Torpedos in that one, since it has those great tubes stuck everywhere. :)

The T's stand as 'the' British Fleet Boat of the time. I too wonder why no one has given us a proper 1/72 kit of this thing. Great design, and the later variants with the external tubes are most distinctive.

Thanks, Mike
Yes, I saw that Hull, and it's a good size, but since I only have one good hand now I would really have difficulty fabricating the small delicate deck hardware, I would want to put on it.
My 'Scratch-building' days may be over. :( But I would attempted it if it wasn't for that.
But if that is the only option I may attempt it later, since my hand is slowly improving. :)

Dont forget that M class boat Mike was flashing around. That one is approx the same size as the 7 if you saw the pic.

Yes, I think I remember that one but it just don't 'turn me on' like the 1/48th scale T-class. :D LOL :D
and it's easily modified torpedo-tubes.
